Weight Loss Reframe - Seven Tips To Change Stuck Patterns

Have you tried every diet under the sun? Again and yet again?

We’ve all heard the definition of insanity, “repeating the same behavior over and over, expecting different results.”

Instead of reaching for the same old solutions, low calories, low fat food, or low carb diets, that result in the same-old patterns of defeat yet again why not try a different approach?

Here are some unusual diet tips for fast weight loss that work in alignment with the body rather than competing against it. They can easily be followed anywhere, everyday:

1. Think of your body as friend and ally. Make your fat weight loss practice a dance of partnership rather than a battle of wills.

2. Eat more not less. Let me clarify. Eat more often not less often. Do it in small chunks. Small meals spread throughout the day are best. Skipping meals triggers the body into slowing down metabolism in an attempt to conserve calories during periods when fats and fuel are less available. Remember, eating increases metabolism which in turn will help burn fat.

3. Use food not pills to lose weight. Make friends with food. It is not your enemy. Hormones are an important clue here. Using proper food, in the correct pattern, triggers the release of fat burning hormones in the brain. The older you get the more everything seems to slow down, so it is important to nurture eating habits that will kick the fat burning hormones into high gear to burn more calories than are consumed.

4. Surprise the body, keep it honed and on its toes by calorie shifting, varying your food, calories and eating patterns. Security and sameness tends to make the body run on autopilot, forcing it to reach for the same old fat burning habits with which it is most familiar.

5. The past does not equal the future. By applying a new technique that is easy and supportive you can step beyond old belief structures and make room for newer ones that are more aligned with a perfect weight and quality lifestyle.

6. Have fun, keep moving, and shake things up. Vibration, movement and change are in, same-old patterns and eating routines are out.

7. Find an easy diet you can follow and stick with it. This weight loss plan will become a framework of support that will hold your vision while it also educates you about the skills needed to keep on track.

The Wounded Healing

Asclepian healing

The unconscious is the source of both our wounding and our healing.

Consciousness, when affected one way by the inner forces of the unconscious, can reult in illness. But this same unconscious power can also operate as the healing power.

Like the dragon that coils inside protecting the inner treasure, we too have hidden treasures that are gestating within the depths of ourselves. To access and and unfold them we need ways to trufflie for our treasures.

If the ego can learn to accept and dance, come into relationship with, our unconscious contents, healing can begin to take place. We can begin to step beyond the blockages that keep us from moving forward with our lives.

The symbol of the serpent, of whose family the dragon is a member, is connected to the ancient association of the power to renew life.

Our own inner serpent power of the unconscious, the inner gremlins and reptiles, must also be attended to if we seek healing and renewal to take place in our lives.

Alternative Treatment for Anxiety: You Do Have Options That Work!

If you suffer from an overwhelming level of anxiety and unreasonable fear in response to certain situations, places or people, you are NOT alone. It is estimated that nearly one out of every four people will suffer from some sort of an anxiety or panic disorder during their lifetime. The attacks that anxiety causes are an overwhelming experience to say the least and the concerns of side effects from drug treatment are certainly valid and not to be dismissed.

Fortunately, there are alternatives. Your task will be to educate yourself about them. While the side effects of alternative treatment are rarely toxic or harmful, there are some concerns regarding interactions of herbs with any drugs you might be taking. Also, you will need to pinpoint what your needs are and see what might work best for you.

One of the most important steps to take in treating panic attacks is to rule out any underlying physical or medical conditions that could be contributing to the attacks. Once this is done, the next step would be to examine your diet and lifestyle. Sometimes dietary, exercise, and stress management changes go a long way toward helping deal with minor to moderate anxiety and panic disorders.

For reducing stress and overall tonic approaches to balancing your system, alternative medicine options such as aromatherapy, herbs, vitamin therapy, homeopathy, biofeedback, and EFT are just a few possibilities you can explore. The alternative therapies for anxiety are usually a lot more effective than taking the usual medications that are prescribed.

Some herbal remedies can treat anxiety safely and effectively and in some cases help eliminate the need for anxiety drugs if you are already taking them. Of course, discontinuing such drugs should be in consultation with your health care practitioner and it is always wise to slowly wean from a drug rather than stop taking it abruptly.

While drug therapy may be necessary for some, alternative approaches can help reduce the amount of medication needed and may lead to an eventual elimination of the drug from your treatment. Some people do experience concerning side effects with prescription drugs, which may require additional drugs to treat those side effects so alternative remedies and therapies may also help address these.

Therapy sessions and counseling may benefit some but they are costly and if you do not have good medical coverage you may find yourself paying out of pocket. If so, by all means look into alternative treatment. While you may need some amount of professional care and drug therapy, natural remedies can make a difference in the frequency of counseling and amount of drugs you take. As you improve and take control of your anxiety you may very well find that natural remedies and therapies are all you need.

Tired of suffering? You can cure anxiety and panic attacks with natural remedies that do not involve harmful medications. Get started with my free report available at http://www.clickherelearnnow.com/anxiety.html

From Intention to Inspiration-Light a Deeper Spark

Recently, a deep focus has been placed on the concept of the Law of Attraction and on how it is the underlying law at work in one’s life. By now, most people recognize this as a vibrational law, how we attract (on some level) what we desire, both good and bad.

While this idea may be interesting philosophically, it’s even more important to know effective ways to work creatively with where we currently stand as to our ideas, feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and conscious blocks in order to begin clearing out the old knotwork so that such a law of attraction can consciously work in partnership with us rather than unconsciously against us. Since we are such complex and inter-tangled beings, conscious creation is more than just “Think stuff get stuff.” It is a complete orchestration of all our selves (our inner crew) and the dance of inter-connection that is going on between them in the depth realm of our psyche.

As such, it is important to explore different clearing techniques that have proven effective in consciousness work, similar to learning and re-learning actual physical dance steps before the flow of our life can begin to take on its natural, rhythmic course.

Joe Vitale, author of The Power of Zero (The Ho’Oponopono Process) and The Attractor Factor talks about the complex, deep-seated beliefs existing beneath the surface of consciousness that exert an extremely powerful magnetic force in our lives.

When these subconscious thoughts are in harmony with the conscious mind, things go well and life flows smoothly. When they are in conflict or out of communication with each other, blockages arise and things go awry.

How do we remove the blockages to our creative intent, to our inner-personal communication if we do not even know what they are? That’s the beauty of some of these clearing techniques. Unlike in some of the past therapies, like talk therapy, we no longer necessarily need to know the details anymore. Many times we just need to focus on the feelings of heat and dis-ease that will time and again direct us to the problems, since the treasure trove of our depth knowing is more often than not concealed in the places we least desire to visit, the heat of our inner trash.

So I invite you to come along with me as we Truffle for Treasures, exploring ways to remove our inner blockages, cleanse the windows of our psyche’s perception, and unknot the tangled bonds of soul as we turn up the intention flame a notch, transforming intention into the more focused and powerful inspiration.

Is Stress Making You Old Before Your Time?

In these times when our culture is so turned on to staying young and living the good life into our senior years, it is important to recognize the damage that repeated stress is having on our bodies.

There’s no easy way to pad the evidence. Physical and psychological stress destroys memory. Stress causes the release of a hormone called cortisol. The release of low levels of cortisol is an important body function resulting in long term memory enhancement. But more does not always make better. Higher amounts of stress causes greater cortisol release which has an inhibiting effect on memory and a toxic effect on neurons.

In other words, cortisol can be as destructive to the brain as cholesterol is to the heart. Independent studies have shown that high levels of cortisol are found in people afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease.

Therefore, if you want to maintain your mental acuity into your golden years, it probably wouldn’t hurt if you learned how to slow down and relax now.

Tomorrow I’ll talk more on why cortisol has such a negative affect on the brain’s memory.

6 Stages of Change

One model of coaching called the Stage Coaching approach recognize that there are six stages required for change. This is the same model the American Cancer Society uses, since it has proved the most effective in changing the habit of cigarette smoking.

Stage 1 – Pre-contemplation . Until we realize we have a problem we remain blissfully unaware that anything needs to be addressed, unconscious of the fact that there might be any kind of problem whatsoever.

Stage 2 – Contemplation. In this stage we realize there is a problem and something needs to be done, but we don’t know what nor are we ready to take action yet. This is the information gathering stage.

Stage 3 – Preparation. We are committed to making a change – but need to prepare ourselves first. This might mean, cleaning the ash trays out of the house, creating a plan, or setting up a support system.

Stage 4 – Action. We are now ready to put our plan in place and take action.

Stage 5 – Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. Staying on course and chugging away until the new course of action overrides the old and becomes habitual.

Stage 6 – Termination. The new course is such an ingrained part of our life no more focus needs to be placed on the process of changing the old to the new.

Explore the Three Levels of Listening

Listening occurs on three levels. Level I listening where the focus is on oneself instead of the other. The client should always be using Level I listening but never the coach. The coach’s focus should never be on their own judgments and reactions, but always on the other.

Level II listening is focused listening with one’s focus placed completely on the communication coming from the speaker.

Level III listening, on the other hand, takes into account not only the words of the one who is speaking but also intuitive hunches, environmental factors, the proverbial ripples in the stream, emotional flavors and feeling tones, what the other is not saying as well as what they are saying. In other words, Level III listening is global listening, focused on the big picture.

A coach should always be listening at Level II or Level III but never at Level I. Level I listening is reserved for the client.

It is a good practice to monitor how we listen in the world. So many of us tend to fall into Level I listening,. no matter the circumstances. We tend to sift and evaluate all conversations in which we engage with the agenda of “What does this mean to me?”

Asking Deep and Empowering Questions

Empowering questions help the coach and client discover what is important. They cause the client to think, and they clarify and cause the client to elaborate in ways that are useful to the task at hand. And most of all they cause the client to take action.

Ordinary questions involve yes or no answers, while empowering questions are open ended that begin with who, what ,where, when, etc.

For example one might ask: How does such an action serve you? What concerns do you have about following that path? or Would you say more please?

By listening carefully, your intuition will prime you as to what the next step should be in the coach/client relationship.

There are no right or wrong questions in coaching but some questions are better then others.

7 step Coaching Model

During the first coach training session we discussed 7 steps important to the coaching process.

1. Setting a Goal. What is the issue the client wants to resolve during their coaching session, such as eating more nutritiously, starting an exercise routine, or addressing an ingrained habit like smoking.

2. Creating Emotion – For the most part, people use 2 main emotions to escalate change. They include moving towards pleasure and away from pain, with the latter being the more powerful for most. To encourage desire for change it helps to bring the emotions into play to enhance these 2 catalysts of change.

3. Discussing the Starting Point of the one being coached. In order to get from point A to point B, one needs to know where point A is.

4. Uncovering the block. What has kept the client from success in the past? What is it they can’t seem to get beyond that stimulates them to seek out the services of a coach.

5. Taking Baby Steps (Kaizen) What is one small step the person being coached can take in the direction of their goal? A step so small they have no doubts that they could accomplish it. (We’ll speak more on kaizen in later posts – it’s the foundation of my whole coaching practice)

6. Uncovering Support – does the coachee have the support from family and friends they’ll need to follow through with their commitment?

7. Holding Accountable – the coach needs to hold the person being coached accountable by asking the question, “When will you take the baby steps you agreed to and how will I know you did it?”

All during the process, the coach is expected to maintain a non-judgmental atmosphere of deep listening conducive to questioning and uncovering the hidden gems of possibility.
